Ryan Gosling Is a Lover and a Stunt Fighter in Surprisingly Romantic Reboot of 80s Action Show
The Fall Guy Opens in Theaters Friday, May 3
Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Hannah Waddingham, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson star in the upcoming action-comedy The Fall Guy, a surprisingly romantic reboot of the 1980s action show of the same name. Gosling plays Colt Seavers, a stuntman who is framed for a crime he didn't commit and must go on the run to clear his name. Along the way, he teams up with a group of unlikely allies, including Blunt's character, a private investigator, and Waddingham's character, a stunt coordinator.
The Fall Guy is directed by David Leitch, who previously directed Deadpool 2 and John Wick. The film is based on the 1980s television series of the same name, which starred Lee Majors as Colt Seavers. The original series was a critical and commercial success, and it spawned a number of spin-offs and sequels.
The Fall Guy opens in theaters on Friday, May 3. This review is based on a screening at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival.
