Chennedy Carter Waived by Sparks

Third Team in Three Years for Carter

Carter Cut After Just One Season in LA

Chennedy Carter is on the market for her third team after being waived by the Los Angeles Sparks. The Sparks announced the move on Friday, March 17, 2023, just one day before the start of the 2023 WNBA season.

Carter, a 5-foot-9 guard, was acquired by the Sparks in a trade with the Atlanta Dream in February 2022. She averaged 9.1 points and 2.9 assists per game in 23 games (11 starts) for the Sparks last season.

Carter's release comes as a bit of a surprise, as she was expected to be a key part of the Sparks' rotation this season. However, the Sparks have a number of other talented guards on their roster, including Brittney Sykes, Lexie Brown, and Rae Burrell.

Carter will now likely have to sign a training camp deal with another team in order to make it back into the WNBA. However, she is still a young and talented player with a lot of potential.
