Lukas Podolski: German Football Star Retires

Podolski Hangs Up His Boots

Legendary striker Lukas Podolski has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 39. The German international, known for his exceptional skills and charismatic personality, has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan.

Podolski was born in Gliwice, Poland, in 1985. He began his career at Górnik Zabrze in 2001 before moving to Germany in 2003 to join Bundesliga club FC Köln.

Podolski's impressive performances for Köln earned him a move to Bayern Munich in 2006, where he won two Bundesliga titles and the DFB-Pokal. He later played for Arsenal, Inter Milan, and Vissel Kobe in Japan before returning to his boyhood club, Górnik Zabrze, in 2021.

Podolski is also a respected member of the German national team, earning 130 caps and scoring 49 goals. He was part of the team that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
