Indiana Fever Trade for Aces' A'ja Wilson

Fever Acquire Star Forward in Blockbuster Deal

The Indiana Fever have acquired four-time WNBA All-Star A'ja Wilson from the Las Vegas Aces in a blockbuster trade, the teams announced Tuesday.

In exchange for Wilson, the Aces will receive the Fever's 2023 first-round pick, their 2024 second-round pick, and forward Victoria Vivians.

Wilson a Major Addition for Fever

Wilson, 26, is one of the most dominant players in the WNBA. She has averaged 19.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game over her six-year career.

The 6-foot-4 forward was named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2020 and 2022, and she was named to the All-WNBA First Team in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Aces Get Valuable Assets

The Aces receive a valuable package of assets in return for Wilson. The Fever's first-round pick in 2023 is expected to be a high selection, and Vivians is a promising young player who averaged 10.6 points per game last season.

The trade also frees up salary cap space for the Aces, who are looking to re-sign restricted free agent Chelsea Gray.
